by Harry DeArmond and Bud Rowe and later by Steve Tosh in Toledo, Ohio, from the 1940s to the 1980s, through Rowe Industries Inc.,
H. N. Rowe & Company, Rowe DeArmond Inc., DeArmond Inc. and Tosh Electronics, all of Toledo, Ohio, USA.
Kustom produced a range of semi-solid guitars and basses. Most of their guitar pickups are variants of DeArmond's model 2000.
Apart from the sloping short sides in the top of this pickup, it is identical to the original DeArmond model 2000 pickup.
This pickup uses the metalwork as the above pickup, but with the adjustable slotted pole-pieces centrally located. As with the standard DeArmond Model 2000 pickups, the bridge and neck-mounting pickups are different heights.
Kustom bass pickups:
These are the same size as their guitar pickups, but with four centrally located adjustable pole-pieces. As with the standard Model 2000 pickups, the bridge and neck-mounting pickups are different heights.
